Dr Richard Trompeter FRCP FRCPCH

Dr Richard Trompeter is a senior paediatric nephrologist having been an NHS Consultant for more than 30 years at Great Ormond Street Hospital, London responsible for establishing the dialysis and kidney transplant programme at the hospital.

For the last 15 years  he has been clinical lead for the Transition Clinic for teenagers and young adults aged 16 – 30 years at the UCL Centre for Nephrology at The Royal Free Hospital campus London.  Patients seen have chronic kidney disease (CKD) principally nephrotic syndrome. He is an Emeritus Consultant Paediatric Nephrologist at GOSH and Emeritus Nephrologist and Paediatric Nephrologist at the UCL Centre for Nephrology.

Consultation for private patients is at The Portland Hospital for Women and Children. London.

His clinical practice and experience is extensive covering the complete range of kidney and bladder problems occurring in infants and children. Nocturnal enuresis (bed wetting) is a major interest.

Publications include more than 100 peer reviewed papers, clinical reviews, editorials and book chapters.

Richard Trompeter acts as a Medicolegal Expert Witness with 40 years experience listed in the Expert Witness Directory and the UK Register of Expert Witnesses and a committee member of the Independent Doctors Federation Medicolegal Committee and the Paediatric Medicolegal Group of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health. He is a Past President of the International Pediatric Transplant Association and Paediatric and Child Health Section of the Royal Society of Medicine.
